What you choose to do first will mostly depend on what your ultimate health and fitness goals is.

If you are training for a race or you want to improve your cardiovascular endurance (for instance), then cardio should be done before weight training. If you are trying to get leaner, add muscle or increase your strength then weight training should come first. One issue with doing too much cardio at the beginning of your training session is that you are more likely to fatigue sooner.

Prior to beginning any workout, you should warm-up the muscles that will be used/worked – this could be as simple as performing a given exercise with reduced weight to get the muscles warmed up before increasing demand (i.e. weight).
