In order to practice lower abdominal workouts safely and effectively, the lower back must be strengthened first. Muscles in the lower back support the spine and strengthen the stabilizer muscles. Some of those muscle groups make up the “core”. The core is what connects our lower body with our upper body. Workouts such as bicycle crunches, leg drops, back extensions, hanging leg lifts, and the “superman” are a few examples of exercises that will help develop washboard abs. Talk to your trainer to find the best exercises for you.
