You’ve likely heard that probiotics are good for your gut, but what do you know about prebiotics? The Mayo Clinic describes prebiotics as “fertilizers that stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut.” Small amounts of prebiotics can be found in several foods; however, foods that are considered a good source for prebiotics include: bananas, whole oats, honey, and whole grains.1
