There are two simple ways to improve your results that don’t require you to change your actual workout routine. While the concepts are simple, maintaining them can be a challenge for some people.

  • Sleep: You need to get adequate sleep. Resistance training, for instance, with a progressive overload actually tears the muscle fibres and sleeping helps them repair and become even stronger, allowing them to adapt to new demands. If you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t be able to make the necessary repairs.
  • Nutrition: You need to eat properly with respect to your goals. Eating too much when you want to lose weight will not give you the results you want, nor will eating too little when you want to get stronger. Your body needs protein to help build your muscles, fats for hormone health and carbs for energy. If you don’t get enough of each, you’ll find yourself plateauing more often than progressing.

We urge you to consult your trainer before changing up your actual workout routine.
