Bryan - Personal Trainer

Bryan Lopez (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: BKIN | Dip. HKIN | NSCA-CPT

Bryan is a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer and has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from UBC as well as a diploma in Human Kinetics from Langara College. Prior to working at Body & Soul, Bryan worked as a fitness day camp leader, weight room attendant and interned as a strength and conditioning coach with various varsity teams at UBC. Over the years, Bryan has been active in a wide range of sports, including volleyball, soccer, swimming, baseball and finally basketball, in which he played competitively in high school.

When it comes to personal training, Bryan strives to create a workout environment that is both fun and challenging with a focus on each client’s individual health and fitness goals. With a strong coaching background, Bryan is a great motivator and works hard to push his clients to give 100% in every workout!

Fun Fact: Bryan recently traveled to Indonesia and went swimming with elephants! He can’t wait to explore other parts of the world after such a memorable experience.

Constance - Personal Trainer

Constance Batore (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: BKin | FMS 1

Constance has a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia and has completed National Coaching Certification Program courses. She has an extensive background in Martial Arts, including seven years in Muay Thai, three years in Jujitsu and Pankration as well as a blue belt in Taekwondo and Karate. She is currently training in Wing Tsun. She has worked with clients with disabilities by way of UBC Access and Diversity and was a swim coach for the Special Olympics.

As a personal trainer, Constance believes that everyone has the ability to be strong, confident, and independent. She believes that the quality of a movement takes precedence over the quantity of a movement. As a result, she works on functional movement patterns before progressing an individual to more complicated movement patterns and weight training.

Fun Fact: Constance loves tropical fruit and Filipino and Italian pastries. If there is ever a tropical tree that grows every fruit next to a Filipino and Italian bakery, she would consider moving there.

Iris - Personal Trainer

Iris Collins (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: CPT-ITEC | GT- NCEF

Iris has a certificate in Sports and Leisure Management, Exercise and Health Fitness and is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Iris joins Body & Soul with over seven years of experience in the fitness industry.

Growing up, Iris was active in almost every sport possible but has discovered that her true passion lies in boxing, kickboxing and self defense. She enjoys training people of all ages and abilities with an emphasis on functional training. Iris believes that with the right program, determination, encouragement and guidance, anyone can achieve their goals!

Fun Fact: Iris moved to Canada from Dublin, Ireland in 2011 with the intention of only staying a year. She fell in love with the active, outdoor lifestyle the west coast has to offer and decided to stay permanently.

Jade - Personal Trainer

Jade Reid (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: CanFitPro PTS

Jade is a CanFitPro Certified Personal Training Specialist and is currently working towards her Bachelor of Kinesiology at UBC. She has extensive experience in health, fitness and training, which she gained during her 17 years as a dedicated ice hockey athlete.

As a personal trainer, Jade is motivated by her clients’ success in achieving their goals. She strives to ensure that her clients always feel that every session with her is a great workout. Jade enjoys working with people of all abilities and is always actively learning new styles to incorporate into her training sessions.

Fun Fact: Despite being an active hockey player, Jade has never had a nosebleed.

Juergen - Personal Trainer

Juergen Reinhardt (Head Trainer)

Certifications: CPT-BCRPA | B.PT | CMT

Juergen is a German trained physiotherapist, manual therapist, and sports instructor specializing in sports therapy. He is also a Nordic walking instructor.

Juergen takes a technical approach to personal training, drawing from his extensive background and training in physiotherapy, sports therapy and personal training. He has a special interest in rehabilitation training following illness or injury.

Fun Fact: Juergen is Body & Soul’s most senior employee, having spent more than 10 years faithfully helping our clients meet their health and fitness goals.

Kash - Personal Trainer

Katarzyna “Kash” Labaziewicz (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: CanFitPro PTS | CFST-II | NCCP FMS

Kash is a CanFitPro Certified Personal Trainer and has been active in the health and fitness industry for over seven years. Her experience includes personal and small group training as well as strength and conditioning training for rep sports teams and summer camps. She is level II certified in fascial stretch therapy with the Stretch to Win Institute, is a level I NCCP Fundamental Movement Skills Coach, and has additional certifications in Agatsu Kettlebell Training and SMRT CORE Trigger Point Performance.

Kash focuses on improving her clients’ coordination and helps get clients moving pain-free. This is achieved through emphasizing body awareness and functional movements in training sessions. Known for her toughness and attention to detail, Kash always provides an interactive and challenging training experience!

Fun Fact: Kash has recently acquired a new life skill: how to three-ball juggle.

Michelle - Personal Trainer

Michelle Wong (Head Trainer)

Certifications: CPT, OSTEOFIT, GF-BCRPA | PPFS | Dip.SS | MENOfit

Michelle has a diploma in Sport Science from Douglas College, is a BCRPA certified Personal Trainer and registered Osteofit Trainer, a certified Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist, Menofitness certified and has been a BCRPA certified Group Fitness Instructor since 2001. She has played competitive tennis, volleyball, and softball.

Michelle’s goal is to make exercise fun by sharing her love for fitness one smile and one drop of sweat at a time. She is attentive and prides herself on listening to each client’s specific needs and goals, and working to take them to the next level in their fitness.

Fun Fact: When her hair is in a ponytail, the colour of Michelle’s hair elastic will match at least one thing she’s wearing… maybe even her shoes!

Pedram - Personal Trainer

Pedram Enghiad (Personal Trainer)

Pedram is a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer, a certified Clinical Exercise and Post Injury Rehabilitation Specialist, and a certified Nutrition Advisor with more than eight years of experience in the fitness industry.

As an active fitness competitor, Pedram is very passionate about fitness and the well being of his clients. He believes that fitness and exercise should be fun. As a result, he strives to provide his clients with the style of training that they enjoy. Pedram has experience training a wide range of clients from teenagers to seniors as well as FemSport and Tough Mudder athletes. Having overcome his own injuries, Pedram was inspired to become a post injury rehab specialist and has worked with clients suffering from knee, back, elbow and shoulder injuries, helping them recover in a safe and fun training environment.

Fun Fact: When Pedram was 12 years old, he took his dad’s gym membership card to get into the gym; however, he couldn’t get into the gym because of his age.

Stephen - Personal Trainer

Stephen Paget (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: B.Kin | NSCA-CSCS | FMS 1&2

Stephen has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from UBC and is a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. He is also certified in levels 1 and 2 of the Functional Movement Screen. Stephen played three years of varsity field hockey for UBC, represented Canada in the Junior Pan-American Games in 2008, was competitive in track & field, soccer, and currently trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

With a passion for strength, conditioning, movement, and BIG lifts, Stephen likes to empower clients by demonstrating to them how strong their bodies really are. He places heavy emphasis on proper mechanics and purposeful exercise selection, ensuring his clients achieve their health or performance related goals.

Fun Fact: Stephen is a cancer survivor and has been healthy since April 2013. He has also played video games since age 3 and has no intention of stopping.

Yusuke - Personal Trainer

Yusuke Asakawa (Personal Trainer)

Certifications: CPT-ACE

Yusuke is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and comes to Body & Soul with a strong background in sports: he competed in basketball when he was younger and continues to dedicate himself to gymnastics, in which he has four years of experience.

Yusuke takes a functional approach to training and likes to work with his clients on body alignment and muscle balance. He is a stickler for proper technique and his clients appreciate the ongoing feedback he provides to ensure every exercise is done in the most effective and safest way. He has worked with individuals who have suffered shoulder and back injuries and while he enjoys working with clients of all ages and abilities, he has a keen interest in helping those with injuries recover in a safe and timely manner.

Fun Fact: Yusuke is incredibly passionate about the English language, to the point where he is beginning to forget how to speak Japanese.
