Nutrition Counselling
Nutrition counselling typically takes place over a series of three sessions. During the initial consultation, the nutritionist goes through the positive benefits of introducing healthy eating habits into your daily life. You will also be educated about nutrition facts, goal setting, and the importance of including a wide variety of foods in your diet. The nutritionist will assess your current diet schedule and eating habits, and look at various lifestyle factors that may influence your diet. Finally, you will be given a food diary and shown how to properly complete it.
During the second session, the nutritionist will provide a complete analysis of your diet based on the information you provide during the first session and your completed food diary. You will be guided through the results, including the specific amounts of vitamins, minerals, calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrate currently in your diet. Your diet analysis results can be used to further develop diet plans, educate you about the nutritional content of various foods, and develop dietary strategies to help you achieve your specific nutritional goals.
A follow-up session is used to evaluate your progress and fine-tune your nutritional plan. Additional follow-up sessions are suggested for those clients who require on-going nutrition education or support and any time your nutritional goals change.
Sports Specific Diet Design
By properly fueling and hydrating, an athlete can reach their peak performance and gain a competitive edge over his or her competitors. During a sports specific diet design session, your nutritionist will discuss the specific nutritional needs of your particular sport, how to properly hydrate, and how to plan meals around vigorous training schedules. Whether you are a recreational or competitive athlete, enhancing your diet with the help of your nutritionist can lead to an increase in performance.
